Welcome to The Resource Hub

Welcome to The Resource Hub

The Resource Hub is an invaluable tool for volunteer reading and writing tutors at Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre (CNLC) and other community organisations to use when preparing lessons for their learners.

The Hub is divided into three sections:

> Becoming a tutor
> Case studies, with lesson plans and teaching hints. These are focussed on Beginner and Intermediate Adult Literacy learners, as well as English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners.
> Suggested activities and a selection of additional online resources.

Although some of the online resources in The Hub are listed for specific learner groups, most can be adapted and modified across a range of levels.

How to use The Hub

If you want to be a volunteer tutor at CNLC and teach an adult to read and write go to the ‘getting started’ section.

If you are already a tutor, go to the section that is relevant to your learner’s needs.
